About the Opportunity

Our client is growing, and they are seeking a highly skilled, energetic, reliable, and experienced Drafter to join their Engineering Department Drafting & Modelling Section.


  • Prepare drawings for mechanical discipline. This includes but is not limited to piping isometrics, P&IDs, flowsheets, components, equipment. 
  • Prepare engineering drawings for civil discipline.  
  • Prepare full range of Electrical/I&C related engineering drawings based upon notes, sketches, vendor drawing and general direction from design 
  • Interface with Engineering teams, throughout the lifecycle of the design. 
  • Create models out of rough sketches. 
  • Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks software. 
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop and modify designs. 
  • Perform regular quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of designs. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all design changes and revisions. 


  • Associate degree in drafting from technical school, or similar degree. 
  • Expertise in one or more specific areas of the following: Structural design of steel and concrete structures, connections, shop drawings and fabrication detailing, Piping isometrics, piping modeling, and pipe support design, Flow diagrams (P&ID & PFDs), and electrical/instrumentation wiring diagrams 
  • Good understanding of Quality Assurance requirements and applicable Industry
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and specifications, such as CSA, ASME, ASTM, ACI guides, ASME Y14.5. 
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks software and 3D modeling techniques. 
  • Good understanding of engineering principles and technical drawings. 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in creating and modifying designs. 
  • Time management skills to meet project deadlines. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
