About the Opportunity

The Project Controls Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the project controls function within the organization. S/He ensures that projects are effectively controlled and monitored, in terms of cost, schedule, and performance. They work closely with project managers, stakeholders, and team members to ensure that project objectives are met.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project controls processes and procedures to effectively manage project scope, cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Monitor and analyze project performance, identify risks and issues, and propose corrective actions.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with project managers to establish project baselines and track progress against them.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on project status, including cost and schedule variances.
  • Conduct project audits to assess compliance with project controls requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project control objectives and deliverables.
  • Lead and manage a team of project control specialists.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in project controls tools and software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Cost Control Software).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard project control practices and techniques.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project controls, with at least 5 years of progressively responsible roles.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is preferred.
  • Experience in leading and managing a team of project control specialists.
